REG 139 – Regulation Y:</b> Provides an overview of the regulation, key definitions and covers the following topics: Acquisitions, Non-Banking Activities and Acquisitions, Control, Appraisal Requirements, Limits on Overdrafts, Financial Holding Companies, and Merchant Banking Activities.<br /><br /><b>NEW! REG 140 – Regulation O:</b> This course gives an overview of rules and regulations pertaining to Regulation O, or Extending Credit to Bank Insiders.<br /><br /><b>NEW! 		<description><![CDATA[<b>Harland Clarke is pleased to announce the release of new Consumer Education training modules.</b><br /><br />Harland Clarke has completely revised and updated our Consumer Education package. This collection of consumer-focused training modules is a great way for your financial institution to provide consumers with up-to-date, critical financial information about some of the hottest topics in the market today.<br /><br />All of our courses have been either revamped or newly created to provide you with the “latest and greatest” information available.  We also continue to offer courses that assist younger people with learning about how to manage their finances properly as well as other critical information about general financial well-being. 		<description><![CDATA[<b>Harland Clarke is pleased to announce the release of new University content.</b><br /><br /><b>NEW! REG 137 - Regulation AA - Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices.</b> The Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act) requires each federal bank supervisory agency to institute procedures for handling consumer complaints involving unfair or deceptive acts or practices by financial institutions under its jurisdiction. Regulation AA is the result of this requirement for the Federal Reserve System. This course provides an overview of Regulation AA’s guidelines for unfair and deceptive acts or practices, and a comprehensive overview of the credit practices rule as found in Regulation AA and how it affects your financial institution.<br /><br /><b>NEW! REG 138 - Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act (Credit CARD Act).</b> In May 2009, the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act, or the Credit CARD Act, was enacted to amend the Truth in Lending Act (which implements Regulation Z). This Act limits when credit card issuers can increase interest rates and bans billing and payment practices that the Federal Reserve considers to be “unfair or deceptive.” This course covers how the law affects credit card rates, terms and fees, and the youth market, and discusses the credit card disclosure requirements, penalties for non-compliance, and other related information.<br /><br /><b>These new courses are now available.</b> We continually strive to bring you new and exciting course content that adds value to your learning experience. This group of courses provides students information about various financial institution styles and techniques, allows students to get up-to-date information, and includes financial tools to calculate budgets and plan for the future.<br /><br />Some of these courses are also offered as stand alone consumer education modules which may be incorporated into your institution’s web site. Please contact your Harland Clarke account executive for more information about consumer education modules.<br /><br />Courses include:<br /><b>CED 101</b> - Internet Basics: Takes a look at various aspects of the Internet, provides E-mail Basics, and discusses the importance of Internet Security and its various elements.<br />CED 102 - Investment Basics: Teaches some of the basic ways to invest your money.<br /> <br /><b>CED 103</b> - Take Control of your Finances: Covers steps you can follow to take control of your finances in your effort to reach financial freedom.<br /> <br /><b>CED 104</b> - Understand Your Money: Focuses on the following four aspects of money management: Setting Financial Goals, Living on a Budget, Building for Your Future, and Understanding Credit.<br /> <br />Updated courses have replaced existing courses as of December 9, 2009. REG 111 - Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)/ Regulation X</b>: The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), or Regulation X, is a consumer protection law designed to assist account holders become better mortgage loan consumers. It provides regulations for settlement costs and procedures in a mortgage loan transaction. RESPA is enforced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). . This course provides an overview of Regulation X and how it relates to your financial institution.<br /><br />This course has been updated to incorporate:<br />All the latest regulatory changes to RESPA that will become effective on January 1, 2010, including providing links to samples of the new GFE and HUD-1 Settlement Statements.<br />  <br />A new Functional Application lesson, which provides students with an opportunity to test the knowledge they have received using actual “real life” scenarios.<br /><br />Updated lesson and course reviews to reflect updated course content.<br /><br />Doubled the pool of course exam questions. The updated exam will choose 20 questions randomly from the pool.<br /><br /><b>The updated course will be available after 4pm PST on Friday, October 9, 2009</b>.
