UPDATE! The Credit Union Difference 
Harland Clarke is pleased to announce updated University content released October 29, 2009.

UPDATE! The Credit Union Difference: The course has been completely revamped and updated to incorporate more information about the history of credit unions, how they are organized, what they offer to consumers in this economic environment, and the rules and regulations required in the credit union industry. The updated course is now comprised of the following sections:

Overview of Credit Unions: Takes a look at the history of the credit union movement, provides terminology assistance, and discusses the key differences between credit unions and banks.

Credit Union Organization: Focuses on the general organizational structure of credit unions, from common bonds to their internal structure.

Regulations, Insurance and Trade Associations: Provides an overview of the rules and regulations all credit unions must follow, as well as the insurance requirements and trade associations available to assist them.

Functional Application: Walks students through five scenarios to review, based on “real-life” situations. All scenarios deal with issues surrounding the credit union industry.
Course Review, Coaching Activity and Course Exam.

This updated course replaces the existing course and has a new course code number. The existing course has been marked RETIRED.

The updated course is now available. The update will not affect learning or testing in any other areas of the University.

UPDATE! REG 111 - Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)/ Regulation X 
Harland Clarke is pleased to announce updated University content to be released on Friday, October 9, 2009.

UPDATE! REG 111 - Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)/ Regulation X: The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), or Regulation X, is a consumer protection law designed to assist account holders become better mortgage loan consumers. It provides regulations for settlement costs and procedures in a mortgage loan transaction. RESPA is enforced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). . This course provides an overview of Regulation X and how it relates to your financial institution.

This course has been updated to incorporate:
All the latest regulatory changes to RESPA that will become effective on January 1, 2010, including providing links to samples of the new GFE and HUD-1 Settlement Statements.

A new Functional Application lesson, which provides students with an opportunity to test the knowledge they have received using actual “real life” scenarios.

Updated lesson and course reviews to reflect updated course content.

Doubled the pool of course exam questions. The updated exam will choose 20 questions randomly from the pool.

The updated course will be available after 4pm PST on Friday, October 9, 2009. The existing course will be unavailable from 2pm to 4pm PST on October 9 to facilitate the update. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. The update will not affect learning or testing in any other areas of the University.

UPDATE! REG 105 - INTERIM RULINGS ADDED TO REGULATION Z ONLINE COURSE 
In an effort to keep our online compliance modules current, we have updated the Regulation Z course to reflect the most recent “Final Interim Rule” effective August 20, 2009. The changes affect two lessons in our course:

1) Open-End Credit – General Information and Disclosures; and
2) Open-End Credit – Credit Cards.

Please review the material to make sure you understand the new rules required by all financial institutions in this area.

The updated course is now available.
