Update to Computer Basics Training Program

Harland is pleased to announce the release of updated University content on Friday, May 22, 2008.

NEW/UPDATE! Computer Basics Training Program. We have completely revised and updated the existing Computer Basics Training Program. This NEW and concise course material is an update to all current Computer Basics courses.

MIS 101—Introduction to Computers: This course provides a general overview of computers, including types of computers and computer components.

MIS 102—Input and Output Devices: Takes a closer look at the most common devices plugged into your computer to either control the computer or create output.

MIS 103—Basic Hardware Concepts: Discusses aspects of your computer essential to performance including the Central Processing Unit and Computer Ports and Buses.

MIS 104—Memory and Storage: Covers the types and purposes of memory found in a computer, along with the various types of information storage and benefits of each.

MIS 105—Operating Systems and Application Software: Provides a basic understanding of operating systems as well as the application software available on computers today.

MIS 106—Internet Basics: Takes a look at various aspects of the Internet in lessons entitled: The Internet and the World Wide Web, E-mail Basics, and Internet Security.

These updated courses will replace the existing Computer Basics school. This change will not affect records for the original Computer Basics courses. The Computer Basics Training Program will be unavailable after 4 pm, Pacific Standard Time, on Friday, May 22, 2008 to facilitate the change. The updates listed above will only affect the Computer Basics Training Program. The updates will not affect learning or testing in any other areas of the university.

Harland is pleased to announce the release of updated University content on Friday, March 14, 2008.

NEW/UPDATE!
Collections Training Program. The following five courses cover the value of collecting debt, its rules and regulations, as well as your place as a financial advisor to the account holder. Also included is a Collections Workoutwhich provides the opportunity to use what you have learned in a live scenario.

COL 101—An Overview of Collections—Discusses the importance of collections and how it fits into the economic cycle.

COL 102—The Collections System—Provides an overview of the collection system, the four stages to collecting debt and important tips for collecting debt. Also focuses on how to deal with problem delinquencies.

COL 103—The Rules and Regulations of Collections—Outlines the most critical rules and regulations referenced in the field of collections.

COL 104—Negotiating Skills—Discusses the critical skills and tactics necessary to effectively negotiate with an account holder.

COL 105—Bankruptcy—Focuses on the two most common types of
bankruptcy and the regulations involved in a bankruptcy case.

COL 106—Collections Workout—A role playing exercise, where you are able to make judgments based information learned in the Collections Training Program.

This updated course will replace the existing Collections Training Program. This change will not affect records for the original Collections Training Program courses. The Collections Training Program will be unavailable after 4 pm, Pacific Standard Time on Friday, on Friday, March 14, 2008 to facilitate the change. The updates listed above will only affect the Collections Training Program. The updates will not affect learning or testing in any other areas of the university.

FACT Act Update

Harland is pleased to announce the release of updated University content on Friday, January 18, 2008.

With the recent changes to the FACT Act , it has become necessary to update our current Loan Officer and Mortgage Loan Officer Training Programs with important information about the FACT Act . In both of these programs, specific information is given about how the FACT Act affects consumer and mortgage lending at financial institutions. Additionally, there is a direct link to the FACT Act course on the University providing more detailed information about the Act.

The course additions will be available after 4 pm Pacific Standard Time on Friday, January 18. The addition will not affect any other areas of the university except as noted above.

Harland is pleased to announce the release of new University content on Friday, January 18, 2008.

NEW! REG 133 - The Junk Fax Prevention Act The Junk Fax Prevention Act, or the JFPA, was passed into legislation on July 9, 2005. The JFPA amends the Communications Act of 1934 and alters some previous amendments made by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 and the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 as they relate to the issue of using a fax machine to solicit consumers. In this course, we will discuss the regulations within this law in the following lessons:

Overview of the Junk Fax Prevention Act. This lesson provides an overview of the Junk Fax Prevention Act and how it relates to your financial institution.

Functional Application of the Junk Fax Prevention Act. In this lesson, we will ask you to review five scenarios covering various aspects of the Junk Fax Prevention Act and make your best judgment in each case.


The new course will be available after 4 pm Pacific Standard Time on Friday, January 18. The addition will not affect any other areas of the university.
