UPDATE! REG 111 - Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)/ Regulation X: The Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), or Regulation X, is a consumer protection law designed to assist account holders become better mortgage loan consumers. It provides regulations for settlement costs and procedures in a mortgage loan transaction. RESPA is enforced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). . This course provides an overview of Regulation X and how it relates to your financial institution.
This course has been updated to incorporate:
All the latest regulatory changes to RESPA that will become effective on January 1, 2010, including providing links to samples of the new GFE and HUD-1 Settlement Statements.
A new Functional Application lesson, which provides students with an opportunity to test the knowledge they have received using actual “real life” scenarios.
Updated lesson and course reviews to reflect updated course content.
Doubled the pool of course exam questions. The updated exam will choose 20 questions randomly from the pool.
The updated course will be available after 4pm PST on Friday, October 9, 2009. The existing course will be unavailable from 2pm to 4pm PST on October 9 to facilitate the update. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. The update will not affect learning or testing in any other areas of the University.

In an effort to keep our online compliance modules current, we have updated the Regulation Z course to reflect the most recent “Final Interim Rule” effective August 20, 2009. The changes affect two lessons in our course:
1) Open-End Credit – General Information and Disclosures; and
2) Open-End Credit – Credit Cards.
Please review the material to make sure you understand the new rules required by all financial institutions in this area.

REG 103 - Regulation D (Reserve Requirements): Regulation D is a monetary policy regulation, which specifies how financial institutions must classify accounts to meet the reserve requirements established by the FRB. This course provides an overview of Regulation D and how it relates to your financial institution.
This course has been updated to incorporate:
The FRB's revised restrictions on the type and number of transfers and withdrawals that may be made from savings/share deposits.
The FRB changes that authorize the establishment of excess balance accounts (EBA) at Federal Reserve Banks.
Regulation changes effective July 2, 2009.
The updated course is now available. The update will not affect learning or testing in any other areas of the University.
